Inmitten des emsigen Treibens von Ibiza-Stadt ist das
Interior des Hotels "The Standard" eine Insel der Ruhe
für die Hotelbesucher. Nicht ganz unschuldig daran: eine
einladende Sitzskulptur, das DS-602.
Strahlend weiss und minimalistisch leuchtet die Fassade
des Hotels "The Standard" in Ibiza-Stadt. Kaum etwas
lässt darauf schliessen, dass hinter den streng anmuten-
den Fensterläden ein behaglicher Mix feinster Materialien
darauf wartet, Nachtschwärmern, Wochenendtouristen
und Sommergästen ein lebendiges Wohlfühlambiente zu
bescheren.
Das vom Designstudio Oskar Kohnen entworfene Interieur
zeichnet sich durch einen minimalistischen Stil aus, der
kalifornische Coolness mit der für Ibiza typischen Ästhetik
in Einklang bringt. Natürliche, gedämpfte Farbtöne, glatte
und haptische Texturen sowie ein raffinierter Mix aus Alt
und Neu verleihen dem Ort Charakter.
Geprägt wird diese Gestaltung durch einen Eyecatcher:
das einladende DS-602 von de Sede. Die ikonische Sitz-
skulptur befindet sich in einem der öffentlichen Bereiche
des Hotels und harmoniert perfekt mit der kontrast-
reichen Umgebung und den fein kuratierten Materialien.
Die geschmeidige, weiche Optik mit den gerafften, sanft
abgerundeten Kanten steht im Kontrast zu der lebendigen
Textur des Juteteppichs, den Beistelltischen aus polier-
tem Glas in Grüntönen und dem schimmernden Glanz der
tropischen Pflanzen. So ist die Skulptur eine perfekte Insel
der Entspannung – auf der Insel.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Ibiza Town, the
interior of “The Stan dard” hotel is an oasis of peace for
hotel guests. Not entirely free from blame for this is an
inviting seating sculpture: the DS-602.
Brilliant white and minimalist, the facade of “The Standard”
hotel stands out like a beacon in Ibiza Town. There is
hardly any indication of the fact that behind the sturdy
shutters, a homely blend of the finest materials is waiting
to envelop night owls, weekend tourists, and summer
guests in a vibrant atmosphere of well being.
The interior, brought to life by the Oskar Kohnen design
studio, stands out for its minimalist style that merges
Californian coolness with the typical look of Ibiza. Natural,
muted colors, smooth and textured surfaces, and a refi-
ned blend of old and new give the place character.
But one star feature of the design is an eye-catching pie-
ce: the inviting DS-602 from de Sede. This iconic seating
sculpture is in one of the common areas of the hotel and
blends in perfectly with its surroundings, which are full of
contrasts and finely curated materials. Its soft and sleek
appearance with its gently rounded, gathered edges
forms a contrast to the nubby texture of the jute rug, the
side tables made of polished glass in shades of green,
and the lustrous shine of the tropical plants. Here on the
island, this sculpture is a perfect island of relaxation.
