Mit seinem Geschäftspartner Pierre Jones, den er bereits
aus Studientagen kennt, verantwortet er unter dem
Namen Viseux & Jones die Renovierung und Dekoration
großräumiger Privatwohnungen. Darüber hinaus hat sich
das Innenarchitekten-Duo ebenfalls als Möbeldesigner
einen Namen gemacht. Aus diesem Grund war die Um-
gestaltung seines eigenen 80 Quadratmeter grossen
Appartements im 15. Arrondissement für Cyrus Viseux ein
Heimspiel. Mit einer ausgeprägten Liebe zum Handwerk
und zu echten Materialien schuf der gelernte Kunsttisch-
ler Räumlichkeiten voller Emotion – und interpretierte den
weltbekannten Pariser Chic auf überraschend zeitgemäs-
se Art und Weise.
Die klassischen architektonischen Details, grosszügige
Volumina, Holzvertäfelungen und Stuckdetails, bilden den
Rahmen für eine erlesene Liaison von Kunst, Architektur
und Design. Unangefochtener Mittelpunkt: eine Ikone
zeitgenössischen Designs, das DS-707 von Philippe
Malouin: Die Wahl des Modells war eine Herzensangele-
genheit. Mit seiner starken Präsenz und den serpentinen-
artigen, fliessenden Linien strukturiert es den Raum und
lässt dabei niemanden unberührt. Hierfür sorgt die mar-
kante Materialität: das espressofarbige, naturbelassene
TOUCH-Leder beherrscht je nach Lichteinfall die gesamte
Klaviatur des Braun-, Grau- und Schwarzspektrums und
entfaltet eine beinahe magnetische Anziehungskraft. Ein
Sofa als Solitär.
Die geringe Tiefe und bequemen Armlehnen machen es
für die passionierten Gastgeber zum Lieblingsplatz für ge-

Gestalter ein − eine perfekte Einrichtung ist für sie ein

aber gleichzeitig dazu einlädt, Gäste zu empfangen. Der
Einrichtung sollte Raum gegeben und der Blick auf die
Möbelstücke gelenkt werden, die das Interieur prägen.

What is life like in the capital of chic? Surprisingly relaxed,
undoubtedly harmonious and, most importantly, très élé-
gant, which the apartment of Cyrus Viseux and his partner
serves to prove.
Alongside his business partner Pierre Jones, whom he
met during his university days, he manages the renovation
and decoration of spacious private flats under the name
Viseux & Jones. The interior architecture duo have also
made a name for themselves as furniture designers. So,
Viseux felt right at home when it came to converting his
own 80-square-metre flat in the 15th arrondissement. As
an experienced cabinetmaker with a pronounced love for
craftsmanship and authentic materials, Viseux created
spaces full of emotion and interpreted the world-renowned
Paris chic in an astoundingly contemporary manner.
The classic architectural details, generous volumes, wood
panelling and stucco details form the foundation for an
exquisite interplay of art, architecture and design. As an
icon of contemporary design, the DS-707 by Philippe
Malouin as the choice of model was very much an affair
of the heart and is an incomparable focal point. With a
strong presence and its flowing, serpent-like contours, it’s
a striking piece that gives the room structure. This effect is
achieved by its distinctive materials – depending on how
the light falls upon it, the espresso-coloured, natural-finish
TOUCH leather spans the entire range of the brown, grey
and black spectra and draws you in with a nearly magnetic

richtung, es ist das Herzstück des Raums. Je nach Form,
Proportionen und Farbe sollten der Couchtisch und die

2. Wir arbeiten hauptsächlich mit den Emotionen, die
wir bei unseren Kunden wecken, und mit dem Lebensstil,
den sie pflegen. Zum Beispiel haben wir einer Familie mit
vier Kindern, die alle zusammen um den Couchtisch im
Wohnzimmer sitzen wollten, ein DS-600 von de Sede vor-
geschlagen, das perfekt zu ihrem Lebensstil passte.
3. Wenn wir drei Tipps geben müssten, wäre der erste,
sich zu trauen, einzelne Stücke auszuwählen, die Normen
aufbrechen, zweitens eine sorgfältige Auswahl der Materia-
lien und Farben zu treffen, die richtige Harmonie zu finden
und drittens mit Symmetrien und Kontrasten zu arbeiten.

furnishings; it’s the beating heart of the room. The coffee
table and armchair should be chosen according to their
shape, proportions and colour.
2. The aim of our work is to appeal to the emotions that
we awaken in our customers and the lifestyle that they lead.
For example, we recommended a DS-600 from de Sede
to a family with four children who all want to sit around the
coffee table in the lounge – which perfectly complemented
their lifestyle.
3. If we had to give three tips, the first one would be to
trust yourself when choosing individual pieces that break
the norm; the second is to carefully select your materials
and colours to find the right harmony; and lastly you should
work with symmetry and contrast.
