Leather, form and sensuality
Leder ist die Welt von de Sede. Eine Passion.
Deshalb werden bereits bei der Auswahl der Häute
strengste Massstäbe gesetzt. Nur Jungbullen
bester Tierhaltung werden auserkoren, denn sie
garantieren allerbestes Möbelleder. Im Vergleich
zu Kuhhäuten sind sie stärker und formstabiler. So
kommt es, dass de Sede Leder zu den kräftigsten
und strapazierfähigsten gehören, gleichzeitig aber
unnachahmlich anschmiegsam sind.
Bei der Verarbeitung wird dem Leder seine
Natürlichkeit, sein charakteristisches Falten-,
Narben- und Porenbild belassen. So sind zum
Beispiel viele Naturmerkmale einzig ein Prädikat für
die Echtheit des Materials. Nur lebendiges Leder
kann seine ganze Sinnlichkeit entfalten. Selbst
der natürliche Alterungsprozess hat seinen Reiz
– denn er verleiht dem Leder eine liebenswerte
Patina.
Einer der wichtigsten Arbeitsschritte, der den
Charakter, die Qualität und die Ausstrahlung
unserer Möbel ausmacht, ist die Sortierung und
Kommissionierung der Lederhäute. Dabei wird
neben der Menge der Leder, die für ein Möbel
benötigt wird, die Qualität, Struktur und Farbe
geprüft. Für ein Sofa werden normalerweise vier
Lederhäute verarbeitet, von der Qualität
DS-NATURALE werden doppelt soviel Häute
benötigt, bis die notwendigen Teile für das Möbel
zusammenpassen.

this reason, the most stringent standards are
already in place in the choice of skins. Only young
bulls of best animal husbandries are good enough
and only those can guarantee the best furniture.
Compared to cow skins, they are stronger and
more stable. That is why the de Sede leather is
amongst the strongest and most durable, but at
the same time inimitably compliant.
During the production, leather is left with its
naturalness, its natural wrinkles, grains and pores.
For example, many natural features are only a
predicate for the authenticity of the material. Only
lively leather can unfold its full sensuality. Even the
natural aging process has its attraction - because
it gives the leather a lovable patina.
One of the most important production steps,
which determines the character, the quality and
the radiance of our furniture, is the sorting and
picking of the leather skins. During this process,
not only the amount of leather needed for a piece
of furniture, but also the quality, structure and
colour, is tested. For a sofa, usually four leather
skins are processed and needed. From the leather
quality DS-NATURALE, the double amount of
skins are needed for the necessary parts to fit the
furniture.
