Während Dogs über seinen neuen
Sessel DS-265 nachdachte, liess er
sich von der einzigartigen Atmosphäre
unterschiedlicher Wiener Szenelokali-
täten tragen – behaglich sollte sich der
Sessel als Rückzugsort anbieten und
zugleich die Weichheit des Leders und
die Ästhetik von traditionellem Pols-
terhandwerk vereinen. Der DS-265
soll die Botschaft aus Leidenschaft
und Tradition vermitteln und zugleich
die Chance bieten, gemütlich in Ge-
danken schweifen zu können.

What immediately comes to mind when
you hear the name “Vienna”? The city‘s
imperial history and its cultural golden
age known as the “Wiener Moderne”?
Fine dining and Viennese waltzes? If
you were to ask the designer Sven Dogs
the same question, he would point to
Vienna’s modern lounge bars and sky
bars. When he started designing the
new DS-265 armchair, he became
absorbed in the distinctive vibes of
Vienna‘s hottest locales. His aim was to
create an armchair that would feel like
a cosy sanctuary but that would also
combine the softness of leather with the
aesthetics seen in traditional hand-
crafted upholstery. The DS-265 has
been designed to convey the notions of
passion and tradition while allowing
whoever is seated comfortably within it
to drift off into thought.
It’s as if you are on a date with yourself
as you sink into the DS-265 and are en-
veloped in sheer comfort and softness.
It feels almost as if the armchair has
created a world of its own – a world you
can dive into and happily lose yourself
within. Sven Dogs was not just aiming
to create a sense of homely cosiness
within a vibrant environment – he also
wanted to use his unmistakable design
language to bring the use of leather
into harmony with the upholstery that
makes you feel as if you are literally
sitting on air.
