Am Morgen weckt ein sanfter Wellenschlag, der Abend
beginnt mit einem Strandspaziergang in den Sonnenunter-
gang und dazwischen macht das Dasein wahre Freude:

diesem spektakulären australischen Beach House das

Broadbeach an der Ostküste Australiens ist ein Sehn-
suchtsort, der Surfbegeisterte und Ruhesuchende glei-
chermassen in den Bann zieht. Nur wenige Schritte vom
Ozean entfernt prägt ein atemberaubendes Gebäude die
Skyline. Federführend bei dem 14-stöckigen Bau waren
die Architekten von bureau proberts, die in Zusammen-
arbeit mit Andrews Projects und den lnterior- Experten von
The Drawing Mill und DOMO Australia ein Objekt kreierten,
das fliessende Übergänge zwischen innen und aussen er-
möglicht. Schlüsselelemente sind organische Formen und
natürliche Materialien wie helles Holz und schimmernder
Travertin, die eine elegante Basis für die sorgsam kuratierte
Kollektion von Sitzmöbeln von de Sede bilden.
An den Möbeln der Manufaktur aus der Schweiz über-
zeugten die Planer in erster Linie die langlebige Qualität
und das ikonische Design. Die Integration dieser Objekte in
das Beach House entspricht der Philosophie der Gestalter,
die kleinen Rituale des Alltags bewusst zu geniessen und
ihnen mit funktionaler Alltagskunst das gewisse Etwas zu
verleihen.
Auch ganz praktische Gründe sprachen für de Sede: Bei
anspruchsvollen Inneneinrichtungskonzepten wie diesem
gilt es immer auch räumliche Herausforderungen und
logistisch herausfordernde Situationen zu berücksichtigen.
Gerade das modulare Design des DS-600 eignet sich ideal
für solche Situationen; dank der einzelnen Elemente lässt
sich die grosse, eindrucksvolle Sitzschlange bequem in

sculptures from de Sede.
Broadbeach on the east coast of Australia is a highly
desirable location, drawing in both surfing enthusiasts and
those who just want to kick back and relax. Just steps
away from the ocean, a breathtaking building shapes the
skyline. Spearheading the 14-storey project, the architects
from bureau proberts collaborated with Andrews Projects
and the interior experts from The Drawing Mill and DOMO
Australia to create a building with fluid transitions between
the interior and exterior. It features organic shapes and
natural materials, including light-colored wood and glimme-
ring travertine. These key elements give an elegant back-
drop to the carefully curated collection of seating furniture
from de Sede.
What convinced the designers most about the furniture
from the Swiss manufacturer was the long-lasting quality
and iconic design. These objects were integrated into the
beach house in accordance with the designers’ philosophy
of conscientiously making an effort to enjoy small daily
rituals and giving them that artistic touch with everyday
functionality.
There are also practical reasons for choosing de Sede
when dealing with logistically complex situations, as was
the case here. The modular design of the DS-600 is ideal
for such occasions; because the elements are modular,
the large, impressive seating snake can be easily delivered
and assembled in individual parts. The handmade seating
furniture from de Sede also opened up custom layout
options for the designers which could be tailored to the
requirements of the beach house.
