Wave
DESIGN BY LANZAVECCHIA + WAI
With its essential shapes and gentle, sinuous sense
of movement, Wave suggests a more conscious focus
on the ritual of arriving home reinterpreting
a quintessential piece Asian furniture: the shoe bench.
The micro architecture plays with curves, solids and
voids. The vertical perforated wave-shaped wall lends
lightness to the volume and adds a touch of refinement
to the sculptural form, accompanying those who enter.
The wave form serves to underline the presence of the
“pocket emptier” plate, inviting us to empty our pockets
as we come home. The upper surface provides ample
space to sit down while removing clothing, while the
base provides storage space for bags and shoes.
Con le sue forme essenziali e il movimento lento e sinuoso,
Wave suggerisce una più attenta consapevolezza nel rito
d’ingresso reinterpretando un archetipo asiatico:
la shoebench. La micro architettura gioca con le curve,
i pieni e i vuoti. La parete verticale a onda traforata
alleggerisce il volume e ingentilisce la forma scultorea,
accompagnando il moto di entrata. Il movimento
sottolinea la presenza del piatto “svuotatasche”,
invitando a depositare gli oggetti che portiamo da fuori.
Un ampio piano permette di sedersi per la svestizione,
la base accoglie e custodisce borse e scarpe.
