Ripple
DESIGN BY MARCO PISATI
The Ripple cabinet is inspired by the fluidity of water
and the texture of metal. The result is a sinuous volume
in which soft lines generate reflections upon a metal
surface shaped by the artisan processes of De Castelli.
Like an object sculpted and polished by the slow,
continuous undulating movement of water, Ripple is
a sculpture to admire from all angles, walking around
it. Though it appears impenetrable, the cabinet reveals
two storage spaces within, like a treasure chest, hidden
from sight thanks to the concave fronts which have been
designed to open 180°.
Il cabinet Ripple è ispirato alla fluidità dell’acqua e alla
matericità del metallo. Il risultato è un volume sinuoso
e polimorfo, le cui linee morbide generano riflessi sulla
superficie in metallo plasmato dalle lavorazioni artigianali
di De Castelli. Come un oggetto scolpito e levigato dal
lento e incessante movimento ondulatorio dell’acqua,
Ripple è una scultura da ammirare nello spazio girandole
attorno. Apparentemente impenetrabile, il cabinet è uno
scrigno che svela al suo interno due spazi contenitivi,
nascosti alla vista grazie alle ante concave, progettate
per un’apertura a 180°.
