Drops
DESIGN BY ZANELLATO/BORTOTTO
Drops is a family of coffee tables inspired by the
unexpected, irregular shapes of water droplets on
a surface. Their soft, familiar lines embody the skilled
craftsmanship and artisan know-how of De Castelli,
which has revived the traditional technique of manually
hammering. The tables are thus a nod to a tradition that,
given a contemporary interpretation, is manifested
in products that harmoniously integrate with everyday
settings. The DeNuance finishing, inspired by water and
the way it moves, further enhances the tops, giving each
piece an organic, natural look thanks to the combination
of fire, oxidation and pigments.
Drops è una famiglia di tavolini che richiama le forme
inaspettate e irregolari delle gocce d’acqua su una
superficie. Dietro alle linee morbide e familiari dei
tavolini si cela il sapiente lavoro e know how artigianale
di De Castelli che recupera la tecnica tradizionale della
battitura a mano. Uno sguardo quindi alla tradizione che,
reinterpretata in chiave contemporanea, plasma prodotti
capaci di integrarsi armoniosamente in un contesto
quotidiano. La finitura DeNuance, ispirata all’acqua e ai
suoi movimenti, valorizza i top conferendo all’oggetto
un aspetto organico e naturale grazie all’azione combinata
di fuoco, ossidazione e pigmenti.
