Traces of time are drawn one on top of another, infused
into the changing skin of the rigorous metal forms that
define these cabinets and chests. Like the tide (marea in
Italian) leaves its mark, wave after wave, even here the
hand of the craftsman has left its sign, oxidation after
oxidation, creating a painterly effect that resembles
water erosion of the material. Somewhere between
design object and work of art, each piece
in the collection is unique thanks to an entirely hand-
crafted finish that transforms the metal surface into
a delicate watercolour.
Sulla pelle mutevole del metallo con cui sono composte
le forme rigorose di questi mobili contenitori, si disegnano
una sull’altra le tracce del tempo. Come la marea lascia
il segno, onda dopo onda, anche qui la mano dell’artigiano
ha lasciato la sua traccia, ossidazione dopo ossidazione,
fino ad ottenere un effetto pittorico che somiglia
all’erosione dell’acqua sul materiale. A metà tra oggetto
di design e opera d’arte, ogni pezzo della collezione
rappresenta un unicum grazie ad una finitura ottenuta
completamente a mano che sembra trasformare
la superficie metallica in delicato acquerello.
