CUIVRE BRUT / RAW COPPER
PROCESSUS D'OXYDATION
Un métal brut - comme le cuivre ou le laiton- s'oxyde naturellement
au contact de l'air. Avant l'expédition, chaque pièce est polie pour
obtenir la finition la plus brillante possible. Le processus d'oxydation
débute dès que le produit quitte notre usine. Chaque pièce se ternira
et vieillira différemment selon divers facteurs comme le stockage,
le mode de transport et les conditions environnementales de son
emplacement final. Par exemple, les zones à forte humidité subiront une
transformation plus rapide que celles qui sont plus froides et sèches.
NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN DE VOTRE LAMPE
Notre laiton doit toujours être manipulé avec soin. La feuille de métal
peut présenter des marques d'utilisation et des bosses. Les sels et
les huiles de la peau peuvent marquer la surface métallique brute. Si
nécessaire, ces marques peuvent être enlevées avec un produit de
nettoyage abrasif tel qu'un tampon de ponçage ou un polish pour métal.
POUR REVENIR À LA FINITION D'ORIGINE
Utilisez un tampon de ponçage. Frottez délicatement la surface
métallique avec le tampon en ligne droite pour éliminer les marques
et les ternissures. Essuyez la surface avec un chiffon humide avant
utilisation.
CONSERVATION DE LA PATINE
Pour préserver une partie de la patine qui s'est formée, utilisez un
produit désoxydant. Ces produits sont souvent utilisés pour enlever le
ternissement de l'argent. Nous croyons que la patine et le processus
de vieillissement ajoutent de la beauté et de la richesse au produit.
Cependant, si vous souhaitez retrouver la finition en laiton brut d'origine,
vous pouvez le faire en utilisant un polish pour métal ou en frottant la
surface dans le sens de la finition brossée avec un tampon de ponçage.
Pour conserver un certain degré de patine, un polish plus doux comme
un désoxydant pour argent peut être utilisé.
OXIDATION PROCESS
A raw metal -like brass or copper- naturally oxidizes when exposed to air.
Before shipping, each piece is polished to achieve the brightest possible
finish. The oxidation process begins as soon as the product leaves our
factory. Each piece will tarnish and age differently depending on various
factors such as storage, mode of transport, and the environmental
conditions of its final location. For example, areas with higher humidity will
experience a faster transformation compared to those that are colder and
drier.
CLEANING AND CARE FOR YOUR LAMP
Our brass should always be handled with care. The metal sheet may show
usage marks and dents. Salts and oils from the skin can mark the raw metal
surface. If necessary, these marks can be removed using an abrasive
cleaning product such as a sanding pad or metal polish.
RETURNING TO THE ORIGINAL FINISH
Use a sanding pad. Gently rub the metal surface with the pad in a straight
line to remove marks and tarnish. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth before
use.
PRESERVING THE PATINA
To preserve some of the patina that has formed, use a tarnish remover.
These products are often used to remove tarnish from silver. We believe
that the patina and aging process add beauty and richness to the product.
However, if you wish to return to the original raw brass finish, you can do
so by using a metal polish or by rubbing the surface in the direction of the
brushed finish with a sanding pad. To retain some degree of patina, a gentler
polish such as a silver tarnish remover can be used.
