Emilio Gil (Madrid, 1949) has been cultivating the best kind of
creativity for some 40 years, the time elapsed before and after
founding Tau Diseño, a point of reference for Spanish design. Every day
he brings solutions and sends messages in a creative language, solving
problems for his clients with all the things that this entails. When
he wants to get away from creative concerns, Gil speaks in another
language: that of the collage.
Cosentino City Madrid is presenting an exhibit by this designer that
shows off some of his more outstanding works in this discipline. As Gil
explains it, his collages are where he finds “the creative freedom, the
experimentation and a new field of expression that I sometimes don’t
encounter or have lost in the daily practice of design.”
He says he considers it a kind of intellectual gymnastics that, like
anything else in life, influences the development of his work as a
designer. “I’ve discovered some surprising results that at the beginning
I couldn’t have imagined.”
Emilio Gil (Madrid, 1949) lleva cultivando la mejor creatividad
aproximadamente 40 años. Los que hace que fundó Tau Diseño, una
de las referencias del diseño en España, y alguno más. Cada día,
desempeña su labor aportando soluciones, enviando mensajes a través
del lenguaje creativo y resolviendo problemas a sus clientes con todos
los condicionantes que eso supone. Cuando quiere desembarazarse de
fronteras creativas, Gil habla en otro idioma: el del collage.
Cosentino City Madrid acoge una exposición del diseñador madrileño
que muestra algunos de sus trabajos más destacados en esta
disciplina. Los collages de Gil son, según explica, el territorio en el
que encuentra “la libertad creativa, la experimentación y un nuevo
campo de expresión que, a veces, no encuentro o que he perdido en la
práctica diaria del diseño”.
Dice que se lo toma como una gimnasia intelectual que, como
cualquier otra experiencia en la vida, tiene su influencia en el
desarrollo de su trabajo como diseñador. “He descubierto la sorpresa
de unos resultados que en el inicio no podía imaginar”.
