Architect Ayşin Sevgi Karakurt didn’t hesitate to accept the herculean
project in İncek, a neighborhood in the Gölbaşı district, where in 2016
the studio built 670 homes that are helping define that part of the
Turkish capital. “We had to create an ecosystem to satisfy the people’s
needs. In addition to that challenge, it was important to construct
buildings of some 30 floors while still taking into account the human
scale,” the architect says.
Sevgi got to know Silestone Lagoon in Cosentino’s Madrid showroom
and that’s where she made her decision. Normally, if a surface is
high, it does not have these textures or veins. Or the prices make it
impossible to eliminate all these concerns,” Sevgi Karakurt adds.
The project used an astounding 1,300 jumbo sheets of Silestone
Lagoon for the countertops in the kitchens and bathrooms. The
distribution of the dwellings is a result of the customs of Turkish
people. In addition, it was necessary to overcome a lack of services
and social fabric in this zone, which is still undergoing urban
development.
Ayşin Sevgi Karakurt wanted to bring innovation to the lives of the
residents by means of some special touches: storage and laundry
rooms that free up more work space in the kitchens. “Turks love
spending time in the kitchen around a table.”
La arquitecta Ayşin Sevgi Karakurt no tuvo dudas al aceptar el
hercúleo proyecto en İncek, un barrio del distrito de Gölbaşı. Su
estudio construyó allí 670 viviendas en 2016 y está ayudando a definir
el futuro urbanístico de esa zona de la capital de Turquía. "Tuvimos
que crear un ecosistema que satisficiese la necesidades de las
personas con una sensibilidad total a la escala humana", cuenta la
arquitecta.
Sevgi conoció Silestone Lagoon en el showroom madrileño de
Cosentino y fue ahí donde tuvo clara su decisión. Normalmente, si el
desempeño de una superficie es alto, la superficie no suele contar
con texturas o vetas. O el precio hace imposible utilizar esta clase
de productos en un proyecto tan grande. Con Silestone, se pudieron
equilibrar todas estas preocupaciones», detalla Sevgi Karakurt.
El proyecto ha utilizado la deslumbrante cifra de 1.300 planchas
jumbo de Silestone Lagoon para las encimeras de cocinas y baños. La
distribución de las viviendas ha brotado de los usos y costumbres del
ciudadano turco. Además, se ha tenido que lidiar con la escasez de
servicios y tejido que sufre una zona aún en desarrollo urbano.
Ayşin Sevgi Karakurt quiso plantear innovaciones en las vidas de los
habitantes de la comunidad con algunos toques diferenciadores:
habitaciones de almacenamiento y lavandería liberan de espacio de
trabajo a las cocinas. "A los turcos les encanta pasar tiempo en la
cocina y reunirse allí alrededor de una mesa", explica.
