ORDERING
Most of them use a computer every day and have had a Smartphone
for some time now. Even so, they form a kind of resistance group
that won’t allow a machine to remind them about someone’s
coming birthday or today’s chores. When it comes to organizing
their schedule, they get by with a notebook and a ballpoint pen (or
sometimes several, even of different colors).
Ryder Carroll, a product designer, found that paper was the ideal way
to order his mind. The attention deficit disorder that he suffered from
was hurting his memory and learning. Years after seeking the best
way to get organized, he discovered the solution: writing lists and
notes by hand.
La mayoría de ellos usan a diario el ordenador y tienen smartphone
desde hace tiempo. Aun así, forman parte de una especie de grupo
de resistencia que se niega a que una maquinita les recuerde los
próximos cumpleaños o las tareas pendientes para ese día. A la
hora de organizar su agenda se valen de una libreta y un boli (o unos
cuantos, de distintos colores, incluso).
Ryder Carroll, un diseñador de productos de Brooklyn, encontró en el
papel la manera idónea de ordenar su mente. El trastorno por déficit
de atención que padecía lastraba su aprendizaje y su memoria. Años
después de tratar de encontrar la manera más eficaz de organizarse,
encontró la solución en la creación de listas y notas a mano.
