Was it more fun to make than your
previous records? ¿Fue tan divertido de
grabar como tus anteriores discos?
Of course, I wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t
joyful. It’s fun making records and it’s
certainly better than digging the road. It’s
more fun now than it used to be, you know,
spending months on end in studios, you
don’t have to do that anymore. You can do
it all on laptops and do it transatlantic. It’s
much easier. / Claro, no lo haría si no fuera
por la felicidad que me da. Es divertido
realizar grabaciones, es definitivamente
mejor que trabajar en la carretera. Ahora es
más divertido de lo que solía ser, ya sabes,
pasando meses seguidos en estudios, ahora
no hay que hacer eso. Ahora lo puedes

tico. Es mucho más sencillo.
So you can email music back and forth?
¿Ahora puedes enviar la música por

Yeah, yeah, we just email our ideas back
and forth. I start writing lyrics, and Kevin
the co-producer. If we need real instru-
ments, we put the drums on, real drums,
real bass when we’re ready. So it’s great.
So much time saved and makes me so
much happier. / Sí, sí, nosotros enviamos

What do you do in the time that you
save? ¿Qué haces con el tiempo que te
ahorras?
Well it gives you more time to concentrate
on lyrics. If you have a band in a studio
and if one idea doesn’t work then you’ve
got to go onto the next idea. However,
everybody still has to be paid. But just
between the two of us, it’s an idea and
if we don’t like it we scrap it. There’s no
musicians to pay. So it gives us a lot more
time off, and my time off is spent with my
children and many other things. / Bueno,

the most importance to me, they really are.
So any time I get I spend with them. But I
work out and I’ve got lots of hobbies. I like
to go and watch football. I like spending
time with my wife. / He estado trabajando

it’s so strong. I just only said goodbye to
her five hours ago and I miss her already,

que ir a por la siguiente, pero tienes que
pagar a todo el mundo. Pero si es solo entre
nosotros dos, es una idea, y si no nos gusta,
la descartamos, no hay que pagar a ningún
músico. Por lo que nos da mucho tiempo
libre y mi tiempo libre lo paso con mis hijos
y muchas otras cosas.
