Nolita (short for North of Little Italy) now has
little in common with the Italian neighborhood
that it was decades ago. Located between SoHo
and the Lower East Side, Nolita has turned from
a transient area into the new hip neighborhood.
It’s main appeal? The mix of historic buildings
and the sophistication of designer boutiques.
Its narrow streets and friendly atmosphere lend
an even more romantic air to the neighborhood,
considered by some residents to be a modern
fairyland. The neighborhood is a favorite among
millennials, who can find restaurants serving up
organic fare, European cafés, new shops and
colorful facades that all serve as perfect backdrops
for their photos. / Nolita (abreviatura de North
Little Italy) tiene ya muy poco que ver con el
barrio italiano que era hace décadas. Situado entre
el SoHo y el Lower East Side, Nolita ha dejado
de ser una zona de paso para convertirse en el
nuevo ‘hype’. ¿Su principal atractivo? La mezcla
de edificios históricos con la sofisticación de
las tiendas de diseñadores. Sus calles estrechas
y el ambiente familiar confieren una atmósfera
aún más romántica a la zona, calificada por
algunos vecinos como un moderno país de las
hadas. El vecindario es uno de los favoritos de

visit McNally Jackson Books (52 Prince Street).
With its busy calendar of events, including
many with author participation, this two-floor
indie bookshop has become the epicenter of the
Manhattan literary scene. Another highlight is
their cozy café where you can leaf through your
