St. Mark’s Church

St. Mark’s Church was
the first building in
which Lewerentz adopted
the rule of not cutting
bricks, which involved
a careful attention
to detail and stressed
the expressive character
of mortar joints.
Modernity and classicism
are fused in this office
building designed
by Sigurd Lewerentz,
where square openings
of the same size
pierce the rectangular
perimeter and the
oval-shaped courtyard.
