Partenaire du Master de luxe (MAS-Luxe) de l’Ecole Cantonale
d’Art de Lausanne, Christofle a demandé aux étudiants de réfléchir
à la création d’objets en argent autour du cocktail bar et du
teatime qui allieraient humour et invention, en plus du luxe et
de l’élégance propre à la marque.
Suite à un atelier avec les designers anglais Edward Barber et Jay
Osgerby, les étudiants ont pensé une série de projets. Cinq d’entre
eux ont été sélectionnés en avant-première aux Designer’s Days
en juin 2009 à Paris. Fort du succès rencontré, Christofle a décidé
d’éditer le service « Float » en série limitée et numérotée.
Float est un set pour le café qui se balance comme un bâteau sur
l’eau. Les empreintes sur le plateau accueillent les trois récipients,
leur permettant d’osciller dans différentes positions, tout en leur
assurant une stabilité.
Partner to the Luxury Goods Master Program (MAS-Luxe) of
the Lausanne Cantonal Art School, Christofle requested the
students to brainstorm ideas of humorous and inventive
silver pieces for cocktail and teatime. These objects should
also respect the luxury and elegance of the brand.
Following a workshop with the English designers Edward
Barber and Jay Osgerby, the students developed a series of
projects, of which took place in Paris on june 2009. Based
on the success experienced, Christofle decided to launch the
“Float” coffee set as limited edition numberes pieces.
Float is a coffee set that balances itself like a boat on water.
The depressions on the tray accommodate the three pots and
allow them to move around without loosing their stability.
