CUTLERY CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Christofle cutlery require a few precautions for use. Whatever the material,
don’t forget that Christofle pieces are reactive to shocks and require delicate
handling commensurate with their value.
However, as a hard coating, it does not like shocks. Handle your cutlery
with care when washing and storing.
Before using for the first time, wash it by hand.
Whatever the washing method, use only proven quality detergents. Avoid
using aggressive 3-in-1 detergents and, above all, make sure you use the
right amount of regenerating salts to match the local water hardness.
HANDWASHING
Use a soft sponge and soapy water. Never use corrosive or abrasive products
and dry as quickly as possible using a dry cloth.
IN THE DISHWASHER
Place the knives in the same tray, with the tip pointing downwards to avoid
contact of stainless steel knife blades with silver surfaces.
The composition of the detergent should never contain more than 10%
phosphates or contain agents such as caustic soda, sodium, calcium
hypochlorite or other extremely aggressive agents. Use only proven quality
detergents.
Avoid washing your silverware on the first cycle after filling the regenerating
salt container.
We do not recommend washing or drying at high temperatures. Daily
washing above 60°C can weaken your cutlery.
Once the dishwasher has completed the wash cycle, it is strongly
recommended that all cutleries be removed immediately and wiped with a
soft cloth, especially knives, to avoid blade water stains.
