Le dragon en argent massif réalisé par Christofle est inspiré de
la créature mythique chinoise aussi appelée le Dragon Oriental.
Habituellement représenté comme un serpent avec de nombreuses
griffes, le dragon est un symbole de puissance.
Incarnation du concept yang, il est également associé au climat
comme faiseur de pluie et d’eau en général. Le dragon était
également le signe de l’empereur de la Chine, et figurait sur le
drapeau national de la défunte dynastie Qing. Le dragon inspire
aujourd’hui toujours autant de respect dans la culture chinoise.
En argent massif, la ciselure met en valeur les écailles de l’animal.
Il repose sur un socle en marbre noir.
The sterling silver dragon realized by Christofle is inspired
by the mythic Chinese creature that is also called the oriental
dragon. Usually represented as a snake with many claws, it
has for a while been a symbol of strength.
It is also the incarnation of yang concept and it is associated
to the climate as a rain and water maker. The dragon was
also the symbol of the Chinese Emperor and was represented
on the national flag of the Qing dynasty. Now, the dragon
still inspires respect in the Chinese culture.
In sterling silver, the chasing underlines the scales of the
animal. It stands on a black marble base
