Oppure senza. Un solo stampo per \nogni componente della collezione: con \nbracciolo diventa parte finale del diva-\nno, senza diventa modulo, con entram-\nbi i braccioli è poltrona”.\n3. \nThe design\nLuca Nichetto grew up in and around \nthe furnaces of Murano, listening to the \nstories of glass artisans, immersed in a \nno-frills environment. It’s there that we dis-\ncover all the limits of what’s feasible, \nbut it’s also there that we find the solu-\ntions. Having a system that’s developed \naround a single mould makes the scal-\nability of the manufacturing absolutely \nkey. Il Centro, il Nord e il Far East, so-\nprattutto nelle fasce alte, preferiscono \nconfigurazioni da due o tre posti”. L’e-\nstetica di Biggie funziona sia free stan-\nding che in versione modulare. È basata \nsu uno schema versatile, ripetitivo. Che \nperò esprime diverse tipologie: il diva-\nno, il letto, una chaise longue dalle di-\nmensioni importanti. C’è tutto: il nord, il \nsud. La razionalità, la morbidezza. Big-\ngie è, come dice il suo nome, una col-\nlezione ampia. \n6. \nLa chiave\n“Ho cercato un progetto passepartout. \nNé contract né residenziale. Una com-\nposizione di dettagli formali di entram-\nbi i mondi, piuttosto. Per dare a Twils \nuno strumento utile ad aprirsi a nuo-\nvi mercati”. L’impatto visivo è di gran-\nde comfort, con cuscini ampi e morbidi, \nuna seduta alta e profonda. Il pensie-\nro ergonomico è evoluto. E c’è una par-\nte profondamente funzionalista, con le \nscocche che agganciano ciascun mo-\ndulo a un binario di lunghezza aggiusta-\nbile. Un piccolo spazio divide una sedu-\nta dall’altra: una memoria da prodotto \ntecnico, destinato a un uso collettivo. \nHa ragione Luca Nichetto: Biggie è un \npassepartout contemporaneo. \n7. \nIl genere\nImbottito sta per morbido. Gentile, ac-\ncogliente. Biggie ha  un genere, ed è \nfemminile. Nella razionalità della so-\nluzione dello stampo unico, nella vici-\nnanza di istanze opposte, nella ricerca \nestetica che media diverse culture e di-\nversi modi di vivere. La forma di Biggie: \nla curva dolce nella scocca di legno è \ndelicata, poetica.
