Una tecnica speciale che \nprevede l’utilizzo di un liquido gelatinoso su cui vengono versati diffe-\nrenti colori ad olio; i colori non si mescolano al liquido, ma rimangono \nin sospensione sulla superficie, creando suggestive macchie e forme \nvariopinte guidate da un’immaginazione casuale.\nLe carte marmorizzate venivano utilizzate per la decorazione delle co-\npertine o dell’interno copertina dei libri. Per questo, la collezione Index \nomaggia grandi opere letterarie con rimandi espliciti nei nomi dei sog-\ngetti Gatsby, Moby, Wonderland e Robinson, tutti raccolti poi nelle riela-\nborazioni grafiche degli ulteriori soggetti Chapters e Quotes.\nAttraverso la nuova collezione di pannelli decorativi Index, Tecnografica \nracconta una storia antica ma già a colori, studiata nel dettaglio ma im-\nprevedibile nelle sue evoluzioni cromatiche, pronta a declamare le sue \navventure in eleganti progetti di interior design.\nBuona lettura…\nEvery time we write something down on paper, or we open \na book, we just don’t realize how much History is hiding be-\nhind those simple, spontaneous gestures. Once, paper was \na very expensive luxury item and bookbinding was reserved \nonly for prestigious texts. Even in this field, the Italian excel-\nlence stood out already from the XIII century, thanks to the \nemergence of paper workshops that over time perfected \nparticular decorative and craft techniques. Some of these, \nlike the paper marbling, came down to us with all their an-\ncient magic.\nThe inspiration for Index, the new decorative panels col-\nlection by Tecnografica, comes exactly from the marbled \npapers. A special technique that involves the use of a ge-\nlatinous liquid, on which various oil colors are poured; the \ncolors don’t mix with the liquid, but float on the surface, \ncreating multicolored spots and shapes traced by a random \nimagination.\nMarbled papers were used to decorate covers or inside cov-\ners of books. most famous and talented artists \nin the history of Italian comics. \nHe was born in San Benedetto del \nTronto (Ascoli Piceno, Italy) on 23rd \nMay 1956, and he immediately reveals \nhis passion for drawing. At the age of \n12, he moves to Pescara to attend the \nartistic high school, where he will be \npart of the artistic scene together with \nhis teachers. However, his real break-\nthrough is in Bologna, where Andrea \nattends the DAMS University (Art, Mu-\nsic, and Performance). He is just one \nexam away from graduation, but he \ndecides to quit university; neverthe-\nless, that chaotic Bologna, made of \na thousand meetings with students \nand artists, and endless political dis-\ncussions, becomes a perfect breeding \nground for his creativity.\nIn 1977, Alter Alter published Le straordi-\nnarie avventure di Pentothal, confirm-\ning Pazienza’s success: the comic artist, \ncompletely involved in the Bolognese \ncultural landscape of that time, becomes \nAndrea Pazienza è senza dubbio uno tra \ni nomi più noti e tra gli artisti più talen-\ntuosi nella storia del fumetto italiano.\nNato a San Benedetto del Tronto (AP) il \n23 maggio 1956, mostra fin da piccolissi-\nmo la sua innata propensione al disegno. \nProprio per coltivare la sua dote, a 12 anni \nsi trasferisce a Pescara per frequentare il \nliceo artistico e lì farà parte della scena \nartistica locale insieme ai suoi professo-\nri. La vera svolta avviene però a Bologna, \ncittà in cui Andrea si trasferisce per stu-\ndiare al DAMS (Discipline delle Arti, della \nMusica e dello Spettacolo). Ad un solo \nesame dalla laurea, abbandona gli studi; \ntuttavia, quella caotica Bologna universi-\ntaria, fatta di mille incontri con studenti \nfuorisede e artisti, interminabili discus-\nsioni politiche e ritmi sregolati, è terreno \noltremodo fertile per la sua creatività.\nDecisivo è l’anno 1977, in cui Alter Alter \npubblica Le straordinarie avventure di \nPentothal, sancendo il successo di Pa-\nzienza: il fumettista, totalmente coin-\nvolto nel panorama culturale bolognese \ndell’epoca, diventa punto di riferimento \na point a of reference for the University \nStudent Movement. During the same \nyear, he joined the Cannibale magazine, \nand then Frigidaire magazine, in which \nhis famous character Zanardi appears \nfor the first time, in 1981.\nFrom here on out, his success is un-\nstoppable: he receives many proposals \nof collaboration, that push him to cre-\nate in different fields and through dif-\nferent channels, such as advertising, \nposters, calendars, records, cinema, \ntheatre. His relentless activity passes \nalso through teaching and, moreover, \nhe displays his artworks at the Galleria \nComunale d’Arte Moderna in Bologna, \nat the Galleria Nuages in Milan, and at \nthe Nuvole a go-go exhibition at Pala-\nzzo delle Esposizioni in Rome.\nIn 1984 Andrea moves to Montepul-\nciano (Siena, Italy). In 1985, he meets \nMarina Comandini in Rome, who will \nbecome his wife the following year. \nDuring the last years of his life, Pa-\nzienza travels and works without in-\nterruption among comics, illustration, \nper il Movimento Studentesco univer-\nsitario. Lo stesso anno entra a far parte \ndella rivista Cannibale, passando poi a \nFrigidaire, dove nel 1981 appare per la \nprima volta il suo famoso personaggio \nZanardi.\nDa qui in poi, il suo successo è un fiume \nin piena: fioccano le proposte di collabo-\nrazioni, che lo portano a sperimentare \nla propria creatività negli ambiti più di-\nsparati, dalla pubblicità ai poster, dai ca-\nlendari ai dischi, dal cinema al teatro. La \nsua inarrestabile attività passa anche per \nl’insegnamento e, inoltre, espone le sue \nopere presso la Galleria Comunale d’Arte \nModerna di Bologna, la Galleria Nuages \ndi Milano e presso la mostra Nuvole a go-\ngo nel Palazzo delle Esposizioni a Roma.\nNel 1984 Andrea si trasferisce a Monte-\npulciano (SI), senza mai smettere con le \ncreazioni e le collaborazioni. Conosce a \nRoma, nel 1985, Marina Comandini, che \ndiventerà sua moglie l’anno successivo. \nNegli ultimi anni della sua vita, Pazien-\nza viaggia e lavora ininterrottamente tra \nfumetti, illustrazione, grafica, teatro e \ncinema (da segnalare Roberto Benigni, \ngraphic, theatre, and cinema (Roberto \nBenigni dedicates the movie Il picco-\nlo diavolo to Andrea). It’s in this peri-\nod that he realizes his graphic novel \nPompeo, the character Astarte, and \nmany of his most important stories. He \nwill die in Montepulciano on the night \nof 15th-16th June 1988, leaving a great \nhuman and artistic void.\nThanks to the collaboration with his \nwife, Marina Comandini, Tecnografica \nhas the enormous privilege of publish-\ning some of Andrea Pazienza’s original \nartworks, re-elaborated by our design-\ners for the creation of an extremely \nprecious wallpaper collection.\nDuring the reproduction of the graph-\nic subjects, Tecnografica kept all the \nsigns on the artworks, such as pen-\ncil traces, little stains, and the artist’s \nown corrections. In \n2007 she won the Premio ARTE by ARTE \nmagazine (published by Cairo Editore) \nand the special Faber-Castell Prize. More-\nover, for the first time in the history of the \nFaber-Castell Prize, she received the Gold \nPlate award also in the 2008 edition. She \nwon prizes from the Pencil Art Society \n(Canada) and the Colored Pencil Society \nof America. In October 2012, she was the \nprotagonist of the Colored Pencil Maga-\nzine’s cover and main article. She collab-\norated for years with Costa Crociere and \nmany of her artworks are now decorat-\ning ships, such as Costa Luminosa, Costa \nDeliziosa, Costa Fascinosa, and Costa Di-\nadema. Cristina lives and works in Sassu-\nolo (Modena, Italy).\nCristina Iotti si diploma nel 1987 in Illu-\nstrazione al Corso superiore triennale \ndell’Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) di \nMilano. Dal 1988 al \n2001 \nlavora \ncome \nfree-lance \nnell’am-\nbito del design ce-\nramico progettando \nbozzetti e decori per \nceramiche \nartisti-\nche e collaborando \ncon studi grafici. Dal \n2002 si dedica esclusivamente alla pittu-\nra e al disegno e da allora espone rego-\nlarmente in mostre personali e collettive \nin Italia e all’estero. Con abilità tecnica \ne pulizia formale crea raffinati disegni \nutilizzando semplici matite colorate. Ha \nricevuto numerosi riconoscimenti e Pre-\nmi in diversi concorsi nazionali ed inter-\nnazionali. Nel 2007 è stata la vincitrice \nnella sezione grafica del “Premio ARTE” \nindetto dalla rivista ARTE (Cairo Editore) \ne del Premio speciale Faber-Castell e, per \nla prima volta nella storia del premio, si \nè aggiudicata la Targa oro anche nell’e-\ndizione del 2008.
