Dripping, the action \nof randomly and instinctively dripping colour \nonto the canvas represents absolute creative \nfreedom, expressed through strong gestures. \nThe full castings of colour naturally recalled the \nmateriality and chromatic density of the glass \nfrom which the tesserae are made. \nDripping è una tecnica nata dall’Action Painting, \nla famosa corrente artistica che si diffuse intorno \nagli anni ’40, il cui esponente più noto è stato \nJackson Pollock. Il dripping, ovvero l’azione di \ngocciolare colore in modo casuale e istintivo \nsulla tela, rappresenta la libertà creativa assoluta, \nche si esprime attraverso una forte gestualità. \nLe colate di colore così piene, materiche, hanno \nricordato naturalmente la matericità e la “densità \ncromatica” della pasta di vetro di cui sono fatte le \ntessere e questo è stato uno dei punti di contatto \ne di dialogo con questa corrente artistica.\nMATIS\nHere it was Henry Matisse’s paper cutouts that \ninspired the creatives of SICIS. The artist created \nsome of his famous collage techniques, speaking \nprecisely of - painting with scissors- and - cutting \ndirectly in colour -. He believed that some traits of \nchildhood ingenuity remained present in each of \nus even in adulthood and expressed themselves \nthrough artistic techniques related to manual \nskills, such as collage. For SICIS it was natural to \nassociate those gestures with mosaic art, which \nis characterized by two fundamental elements: \nthe cutting of the glass tiles, which is handmade \nby the mosaic masters, and the making of the \nwork. Even in the fabric has been maintained \na link with intuitive manual skills, which has its \nroots in childhood. \nQui sono stati i ritagli di carta di Henry Matisse \nad ispirare i creativi di SICIS. L’artista realizzò \nalcune sue opere celebri con la tecnica del \ncollage, parlando proprio del ‘dipingere con \nle forbici’ e ‘tagliare direttamente nel colore’. \nRiteneva infatti che alcuni tratti dell’ingenuità \ninfantile rimanessero presenti in ciascuno di \nnoi anche in età adulta, e si esprimessero \nattraverso l’utilizzo di tecniche artistiche legate \nalla manualità, come il collage. Per SICIS è stato \nnaturale associare queste gestualità all’arte \nmusiva, che è caratterizzata da due elementi \nfondamentali: il taglio delle tessere di vetro, che \nviene eseguito a mano dai maestri mosaicisti, \ne l’esecuzione dell’opera che diventa un vero \ne proprio “dipinto” in mosaico. Quindi anche \nnel tessuto, si è mantenuto un legame con la \nmanualità spontanea, che affonda le sue radici \nnel mondo dell’infanzia, , che ognuno di noi \nconserva nella sua memoria.\nPURO\nHere the idea becomes from an abstract, \nessential, pure current, such as Suprematism. \nAny reference to reality was completely \neliminated, and the work was based exclusively \non colour and lines. Un \nmondo affascinante e suggestivo da esplorare, \ne un punto di arrivo in cui l’arte musiva viene \nsvincolata dalle forme più conosciute.\nAMAPOLAS\nAmapolas takes ideas from some contemporary \nart movements that interpret the world of Nature. \nThe theme developed is a fantastic nature, out \nof reality, characterized by very bright and vibrant \ncolours, interpreted in a modern key through the \nancient art of mosaic then translated into the \nfabric. \nAmapolas \ndialoga \ncon \nalcune \ncorrenti \ncontemporanee che interpretano il mondo della \nNatura. In tali correnti artistiche si utilizzano \nspesso più tecniche mescolate tra loro,  e \nl’utilizzo di materie di vario genere (vetro, materiali \nsintetici e molto altro ancora).
