Carlo \nScandola inizia a lavorare il legno come dipendente di un arti-\ngiano all’età di 23 anni. Questo periodo lavorativo si è protratto \nper sette anni, durante i quali Carlo svolge diversi incarichi fino \na diventare responsabile della produzione. Tale esperienza gli \npermette di acquisire innanzi tutto l’arte di far mobili e inol-\ntre di misurarsi con compiti di responsabilità e di direzione. \nE’ poi diventato a sua volta artigiano imprenditore, aprendo un \nlaboratorio dove lavora per conto terzi; in seguito ha voluto af-\nfiancare al lavoro per conto terzi la produzione e la commer-\ncializzazione di una propria linea di mobili.  Sono gli anni degli \ninizi: volontà ed entusiasmo sono le molle che lo fanno a poco \na poco affermare. Seguono i primi successi con la creazione \ndi una rete commerciale. Dapprima i suoi clienti provengono \ndal “bacino” montano, ma un po’ alla volta il prodotto matura e \nprende un suo carattere ed una sua autonomia, espandendosi \nanche nelle altre regioni di Italia. Con i primi cataloghi la rete \nvendita si estende sia in Italia e sia all’estero. Si inizia così una \nricerca stilistica che attinge dalla tradizione le sue radici e \nCarlo getta un ponte tra il passato concependo progetti ambi-\nziosi per il futuro. Le ampliate esigenze produttive hanno quindi \nrichiesto nel 1995 l’edificazione di un nuovo stabile adatto al \ngiro d’affari che si stava creando.  Carlo compatta una squa-\ndra di efficaci, validi e leali collaboratori, che mettono con \nentusiasmo le loro competenze a servizio della Scandola, per \nmeglio affrontare gli sviluppi futuri che prevedono l’inserimen-\nto di nuove tematiche d’arredamento, finora poco sfruttate, \naprendosi verso nuove sfide e frontiere.  Carlo Scandola crede \nnei valori della tradizione, dell’autenticità dei materiali, nel \ncalore della gente che lo circonda, nella solidarietà, nella fami-\nglia: temi che in qualche modo traduce anche nello spirito dei \nsuoi mobili. He then opened his own woodworking \nbusiness doing contract work for other manufacturers in his \nworkshop, later supplemented with the production and sale of \nhis own line of furniture. These were the early years, willpo-\nwer and enthusiasm were the driving forces behind his steadily \ngrowing success  that culminated in the creation of his own \nsales network. In the beginning his customers were all located \nin the mountain area but, as time went by, his product gradual-\nly matured, taking on its own distinctive personality, becoming \nindependent and expanding to other regions in Italy. When the \nfirst catalogues were distributed his sales network began to \nexpand throughout Italy and abroad. Carlo started to look into \nstyles that had their roots deeply embedded in tradition, deter-\nmined to bridge the gap between the past and the future with \nhis ambitious projects.  In 1995 growing production demands \nturned the construction of a new factory, able to meet the re-\nquirements of the company’s current turnover, into a necessity.  \nHe put together a team of efficient, skilled and loyal collabo-\nrators who enthusiastically pooled their abilities to meet the \nrequirements of  Scandola’s future developments including the \naddition of new types of furniture, opening up to new challen-\nges and frontiers.
