The name Parvati, however, also identifies \nanother very important figure, the bride of Shiva, the deity of marriage, to whom \nIndian women pay homage by wearing precious gold nose rings. This decorative \nelement with a strong symbolic value becomes central to the collection: infact we \nsee at the center of Nanda cabinet a large brass handle that resembles the shapes\nof these jewels. Common features of the Nanda cabinet and the other pieces in the \ncollection are also the use of brightly colored woods, with contrasted grains, and \nalso vibrant and multicolored textures. These textures deliberately refer to the \npsychedelic culture of the 60s, a time when numerous artists traveled through the \nIndian regions to immerse themselves in this multifaceted culture, and then mixing \nit with the western one to create masterpieces in musical and artistic fields. \nNanda è il primo pezzo della collezione di mobili contenitore Parvati, disegnato da \nSerena Confalonieri per Medulum. A real as well as a \nmental path through places, time, language arts, \nexpressiveness which is able to mix up functions \nand emotions. A double glance at tradition and \ninnovation turning into tangible signs for design \nand architecture: at the same time having to do \nwith the senses and with technology, therefore \nconsistent with here and now.\nLuca De Bona e Dario De Meo, rispettivamente \narchitetto e designer, si incontrano sul percorso tra \nMilano e il Veneto e iniziano una collaborazione che \nproprio dal viaggio attinge ispirazione per produrre \nsegni e disegni di risposta alle esigenze dell’habitat \ncontemporaneo. She \nworks on product, graphic and textile design \nprojects and collaborates with many italian and \ninternational companies. Her works are placed \nin-between product and graphic design: an \naccurate research on the surfaces is always present \nin her projects. After a Master Degree in Interior \nDesign, she started her career working in many \narchitecture and design practices in Milano, \nBarcelona and Berlin, and collaborating with the \nInterior Design Faculty of Politecnico di Milano as \nassistant professor. In 2013 she makes her debut at \nMilano Design Week with her Flamingo rug, \nproduced by Nodus.
