At the center, the desire to work\nform and material to achieve synthesis in a product, between innovation and careful\nsafeguarding of the past.\n \nIn MDF Italia, all of these forces are translated into design as well as into spaces,\nin a constant relationship between product and architecture for converge in a unitary \nvision. For the Salone del Mobile 2022 the Israeli studio Pitsou Kedem designed\nthe architecture of the space at the fair with soft wings that curve gently introducing \nthe visitor from one room to another, Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces \noversaw the mood and layout placing the principles behind the products of\nMDF Italia in a contemporary key, while the styling by Cameranesi Pompili studio \nwas conceived as a set of abstract decorative objects in dialogue with the new \ndesigns and the surrounding space. Essentiality, balance and simplification of forms \nare told in an almost metaphysical way in the succession of spaces. The rhythm\nis calm, the colours are bold, the spaces sculpted.  \n \nThe insertion of a universe of colours and surfaces from the natural world \nbrings design culture and nature into dialogue, and it is in this exchange space that \nthe new features are inserted.\nImmagina: un’effervescente rete di studi, disegni, intuizioni, schizzi, immagini,\nragionamenti, connessioni, scambi, prototipi. In the chair or armchair version - with wooden backrest \nor fully upholstered - the three dimensional backrest is the focal point of the\nseat; it consists of two curved elements pressed from a mechanical mould, then \ncoupled and assembled, with a procedure that echoes the refined savoir-faire\nof the luthier. The concept was developed from a study on the curving of the wood \nwhich led to the definition of an innovative, now patented technology in which \nindustrial design and craftsmanship merge. This system, in addition to producing \na unique design, also ensures an unprecedented level of comfort and first\nclass ergonomics. \n \nThe design takes its name, above all, from the disc of the seat, the beating \nheart of the piece, designed to accommodate different types of bases and\nbackrests, so lending itself over time to the development of an infinite variety of \npossible configurations.
