COVETED MAGAZINE PAGE 131.
Immediately after entering a suite, one is confronted with a
vigorous environment that is decorated with natural textures and
graphics reflective of the oriental style. This is characterised by
Tai-Ping carpets and furniture exclusively designed by Patricia
Urquiola for the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona collection.
The new suites are grandiose and rather flexible not only in terms
of space including high ceilings with natural lighting on both sides
of the room but also in colour, with an omnipresent bronze tone
that produces an idea of generosity and nobility. In addition, the
bold carpets and extraordinary artworks add a sense of brightness.
The suites are also well-appointed with a walk-in closet and
a lounge for meetings and private dinners. The bathrooms are
almost identical to a spa, being besieged by an opaque crystal
which is sometimes slightly tinted. On the upper-level suites,
guests can benefit from unobstructed views over the striking
city of Barcelona. All decorative pieces and furniture have been
designed by Patricia Urquiola for various exclusive collections,
including the Flos lamps, sitting and tables for Moroso, sitting
for B&B Italia, stool EMU, outdoor pieces for Kettal, Tapware for
Axor and mosaic for Mutina.
