Rooms are mix of modern and classic design with plush carpet and
delicated ivory floral felt walls. Lux amenities include pillow menus,
comfy slippers and robes, bottled water, and a perfect turndown service.
The best rooms are undoubtedly the themed suites. Here you’ll find
elaborately designed named after Dalí, Josephine Baker, Maria Callas,
Joan Miró and César Ritz. Each room features individual touches – some
from the namesakes themselves.
In the basement, where the coal was located, is the cocktail bar
Bluesman, with an air of speak easy where rock and jazz shows are
offered every Thursday through Saturday nights, and in honor of 100
years, a happy hour is offered. Also, the paintings in this room were
painted by Ronnie Wood.
Continuing our private tour with the Hotel Manager, we discovered the
wonderful Jardin Diana Rooftop, where the views are endless and most
prominent is the Gothic Barcelona Cathedral. The giant space also has
a koi pond, solarium, an intimate pergola with a statue of the Roman
goddess Diana, and an herb garden that’s used by the hotel’s chefs.
El Palace will delight anyone who has ever dreamed of living like a
