CHANEL CRUISE
COLLECTION 2020
Following in Karl Lagerfeld’s footsteps but trying
to leave a mark of her own, Virginie Viard’s first
collection as Chanel’s new Creative Director was
laid-back and relaxed whilst staying true to the
brand’s classic style: lots of skirt suits, bows and
ballet flats. But there were some mood swings as
well, with many wide pants, blouses and even tweed
jackets worn over leggings.
The opening look of the show was respectful but,
at the same time, portrayed how the liberated and
young Chanel herself would have dressed in 2020,
with a black jacket and wide-leg pants. On the
other hand, the final look was a clear homage to
Karl Lagerfeld, with the model dressed in a halter
dress with an Edwardian collar, in the late designer’s
trademark black and white.
The collection was presented at the Grand Palais
and the show was quite different from the iconic
spectacles Lagerfeld gotten the world used to.
Viard presented a simple train station, with signs
that directed to Europe’s most coveted vacation
destinations, such as Venice or the French Riviera,
both perfect to strut the Cruise Collection on a jaw-
dropping superyacht.
GRACE KELLY
Grace Kelly made history on April 1956 when she married
into royalty and set sail for a dreamy honeymoon around the
Mediterranean on an incredible superyacht. She is undeniably one
of the most glamorous stars to ever be featured on our screens and
this classic yacht represented her presence perfectly. The yacht was
gifted to the royal couple as a wedding present by Aristotle Onassis
and, today, the refurbished M/Y Grace cruises the crystal clear
waters of the Galapagos Islands, where you can enjoy its amazing
wooden deck
