03 - EVERYTHING YELLOW
Anyone following the Spring 2019 runways could easily spot what
the main colour is going to be for next season: yellow.
Throughout the shows, different shades of yellow kept coming up.
Pantone decreed a marigold called Aspen Gold as the yellow for the
season, but there are plenty of different shades to choose from, from
paler or darker to more limey and golden.
As the trend for the use of statement sofas in living rooms increases,
yellow is becoming a big candidate as the main colour to use when we
need to add of a pop of colour in our homes.

04 - LEOPARD PRINT
Leopard print or more broadly animal print is making a big come-
back in next year’s fashion trends. Snakeskin, leopard and tiger
have been the absolute trend among the street style set this fash-
ion month. In interior design, this trend will be used as a comple-
ment in textiles, cushions and area rugs. The controversial print
has essentially been embraced as 2019’s equivalent to a neutral.
05 - CHALKED TONES
The nostalgia-fest continues with colourfully stained clothes. De-
signers employed the beloved hippie print for Spring 2019, proving
that the spinning, psychedelic colours are returning.
Deliberately pale and almost imperceptibly coloured, chalked tones
cross a wide range of hues and take the trend for matte and dry
finishes to a new extreme.
In our homes, this look is incorporated in the “Tactility trend” that
is translated into the use of textured materials to transmit a craved
sensory experience. It’s all about creating a surface look that makes
you want to slide your fingertips all over the surface.
Deliberately pale and almost imperceptibly coloured, chalked tones

rooted in ecology, where colourants are natural in source or minimal
in intensity to reduce the quantity of dye used.
