MILAN
DESIGN WEEK
The much-beloved Milan Design Week will take place from 17th to
22rd April and, with it, comes a series of design events and exhibitions
that elevate the notion and future of design. These platforms allow
creatives the opportunity to express and challenge themselves in
an environment dedicated to originality and growth. They are
also perfect for professionals and visitors to discover new ideas and
designs, as well as meeting the key figures of this industry. Now, take
a little preview of some of the biggest events and design districts, a
part of this fascinating and revolutionary week.
SALONE DEL MOBILE
As one of the defining events of Milan Design Week alongside
Fuorisalone, the Salone del Mobile is the global benchmark for home
furnishings and design. It has been continually promoting not only
Italian furniture brands but also brands from all around the world.
iSaloni will happen from 17th to 22rd April 2018 and visitors can expect
to see a wide variety of styles and high-quality products represented,
from classic to modern design.
In the name of creativity and innovation, the prestigious event
acts as a platform that continuously connects business to culture,
building the story of the past, present and future of furniture and
design, as well as combining those with technology, flexibility and
sustainability. More than 2,000 exhibiting brands and designers are
expected to showcase their solutions of contemporary living in an
area of more than 200,000 m2.
This edition of iSaloni will also see the return of the biennial
event, EuroCucina/FTK (Technology for the Kitchen), as well
as the International Bathroom Exhibition. The former will be an
interconnected, multipurpose and professional place that promises
to deliver emotive and ingenious designs for that specific home
division, whereas the latter is an expanding and dynamic showcase
that provides the best of the international bathroom manufacturing,
including furniture and accessories, shower cubicles and saunas,
coverings, taps, bathtubs and much more.
As a whole, the event manages to masterfully combine quality and
creativity in a diverse environment, something that is enhanced by
the presence of some of the most renowned Italian and international
luxury brands from all over the world, including Fendi Casa,
Kartell, Boca do Lobo, Poliform, Brabbu, Republic of Fritz Hansen,
DelightFULL, Baxter Italy, Minotti, Essential Home, Aldeco, Maison
Valentina, Poltrana Frau and countless others.
“Design is emotion. Milan is the heart it springs
from. What connects these two things is the Salone
del Mobile, which creates new frameworks and
hosts new creativity at each edition, because the
important thing is that this event is not simply
the leading showcase of both Italian and foreign
furnishing and design, it also shines a light onto
developments within the industry” - Claudio Luti,
the new president of Salone del Mobile
Exhibition space of DIMORESTUDIO on via Solferiino 11 during Milan Design Week 2017.
