Located in the heart of Central London’s theatre-land we found a
timeless martini bar and American restaurant, housed in an ornate
Grade II listed building, Christopher’s Covent Garden. Inside we
have three differently stylish floors: a high-ceilinged dining room
reached by a sweeping staircase, ground floor art-deco martini bar
and private Club Room. CovetED was there and we witnessed a
place with a touch of elegance and style that takes pride in its food,
drink and service.
In 2013, the place suffered a major refurbishment made by
the London-based firm De Matos Ryan in collaboration with
Christopher’s owners. Christopher’s exudes glamour and revelry;
De Matos Ryan has celebrated the ornate and exceptional character
of the existing building and the atmosphere of heady decadence
is embodied in the fabric of the design, earning Christopher’s the
World Interiors News Restaurant Design Award in 2013, and Best
Restaurant or Bar in a Heritage Building in the Restaurant & Bar
Design Awards 2014.

The Club Room and Bar shares the design language of the main
spaces, incorporating mirror-lined walls and a brass-clad bar so that
the spaces are distinct yet unified. To light up the three rooms,
the interior design studio selected a Portuguese lighting brand,
DelightFULL. Regarding the service, they offer a highly trained staff
that served us the timeless quality of Christopher’s, providing a very
special experience from start to finish.
If you’re thinking about having a nice meal there, they offer a
mainly Modern American Menu, with classics of lobster, steak,
mac n’ cheese and a raw bar. The head chef Francis specialises in
taking classic American dishes and adding a contemporary twist
to them. If you’re looking for something lighter, they hold some
delicious vegetarian choices as well as some superfoods too! If you
are such a food lover as a design lover, this place should definitely
be on your list. For a brunch on the weekend on a relaxed cocktail
in the afternoon, you’ll find here all kind of alternatives for your
perfect stay in London! We’ve been there, and this is a place that
you cannot miss.
