Its founders and still current owners, \nwho come from an architectural background rather than the \nbusiness field, have oriented BD’s production from the very start \nby cultivating beauty, in some cases above function. Accompanied \nwith artisanal processes instead of mass production, the new \nproducts always have more proximity to art than industrial design. \nCharacterised by superior quality, short-series productions (and \non occasion limited editions), and unique pieces due to crafted \nmanufacturing. In the 80’s, BD pleasantly surprised by editing \nGaudí’s furniture for his famous buildings and in the early 90’s,\nBD again astounded by introducing an exclusive first collection\nof furniture and lamps designed by Dalí. More recently, Collections \nand Designers with an accentuated artistic profile such as Jaime \nHayon, Campana Brothers, Doshi Levien, Neri&Hu, Konstantin \nGrcic, Ross Lovegrove  and Stephen Burks continue to point the\nway where design and art meet together.\nDesde sus comienzos en los años 70, BD siempre ha sido una empresa \natípica. El que sus fundadores y todavía propietarios proviniesen de \nla arquitectura y no del mundo empresarial marcó desde sus inicios \nun culto a la belleza de los objetos en algunos casos por encima de \nsu función. Ello unido a procesos de producción más artesanales que \nindustriales, facilitó el desarrollo de productos más cercanos al arte \nque al diseño industrial. Se caracterizan por su altísima calidad, por \nproducirse en series muy cortas (en ocasiones son series limitadas),\ny por una manufactura artesanal que hace que cada producto sea único. \nEn los años ochenta BD sorprendió editando el mobiliario que Gaudí \ncreó para sus famosos edificios y en los comienzos de los noventa \nvolvió a sorprender presentando en exclusiva la primera colección de \nmuebles y lámparas diseñadas por Dalí.
