first to engage the most forward-thinking authors in the narration – through new shapes – of the culture
of contemporary design. The only one to apply innovation at every step of the design process, developing
previously untried manufacturing solutions and imagining future lifestyles inspired by society, art and
fashion. Its artisan and industrial production expanded in the 1950s as orders for the interiors of ocean
liners increased – like the famous Andrea Doria, for which Gio Ponti designed some of the furnishings
– revealing not only its special flair for masterfully and competently bringing the ideas of the great
designers into form, but also the talent to explore the design needs of public spaces. Fueled by intuition
and foresight, this vitality still drives the company today, as it continues to look to the future with audacity,
passion and an open-minded holistic approach. Thus, Cassina expands The Cassina Perspective to include
