Valor.S is the table lamp and applique designed by Philippe
Starck as a tribute to Vallauris, a tiny village on the French Riviera
where, after World War II, Pablo Picasso and many other artists
took up residence to reveal to the world the beauty of enamelled
ceramics. Starck interprets that period with his own personal
approach to the malleable material used by great artists and
painted by hand. The table lamp and applique are characterized
by their smooth, organic shape and lively colours that include
ivory white, orange, gold and silver. In the monochromatic gold
and silver versions, the lamp features a 24-carat polished gold
finish on the exterior and is embellished with gold leaf detailing on
the interior. In the silver version, the exterior is finished in platinum
silver, while the interior is adorned with silver leaf.

Valor.S è la lampada da tavolo e applique disegnata da
Philippe Starck per rendere omaggio a Vallauris, un piccolo
villaggio della Costa Azzurra dove, dopo la Seconda Guerra
Mondiale, Pablo Picasso si stabilì con molti altri artisti per rivelare
al mondo la bellezza della ceramica smaltata. Starck interpreta
quell'epopea con il suo personale approccio a quel materiale
usato da grandi artisti e dipinto a mano. La lampada da tavolo
e l'applique si distinguono per la forma liscia e organica e per i
colori vivaci che comprendono il bianco avorio, l'arancio, l'oro
e l'argento. Nelle varianti monocromatiche, oro e argento, la
lampada è verniciata in oro lucido 24 carati nella parte esterna e
impreziosita dalla lavorazione in foglia oro nel lato interno, mentre
nella versione in argento l'esterno è rifinito in argento platino e
l'interno è decorato in foglia argento.

Valor.S est une lampe de table et une applique conçues par
Philippe Starck pour rendre hommage à Vallauris, un petit village
de la Côte d'Azur où, après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Pablo
Picasso s'était installé avec de nombreux autres artistes pour
révéler au monde la beauté de la céramique émaillée. Starck
interprète cette épopée avec sa propre approche du matériau
utilisé par de grands artistes et peint à la main. La lampe de table
et l'applique se distinguent par la forme lisse et organique et
par les couleurs vives qui comprennent le blanc ivoire, l'orange,
l'or et l'argent. Dans les versions monochromes or et argent, la
lampe présente un revêtement extérieur en or poli 24 carats et
est embellie de feuilles d'or à l'intérieur. Dans la version argent,
l'extérieur est fini en argent platine, tandis que l'intérieur est
décoré de feuilles d'argent.

n den einfarbigen Varianten Gold und Silber ist die Lampe außen
mit 24-karätigem poliertem Gold beschichtet und innen mit
Blattgold veredelt. In der Silber-Version ist die Außenseite in Platin-
Silber gehalten, während die Innenseite mit Blattsilber verziert ist.
