Tessitura a Mano
Tecnica di produzione nella quale i telai sono azionati da
esperti tessitori senza il ricorso ad alcuna fonte di energia.
Il telaio può essere sia verticale (Panja) che orizzontale
e infossato (Pitloom). Con questo metodo i fili vengono
intrecciati attraverso una spoletta e fissati da un grosso
pettine che li batte e li compatta fino a ottenere tappeti
piatti e senza vello. Una delle più antiche tecniche di
tessitura a mano è la TESSITURA SUMAK, in cui la trama
avvolge l’ordito in modo continuo, allo scopo di creare il
suo tipico decoro a treccia.
Hand Woven
Production technique in which the looms are operated by
experienced weavers without the use of any energy source.
The loom can be both vertical (Panja) and horizontal and
sunken (Pitloom). With this method the threads are braided
through a pin and fixed by a large comb that beats and
compacts them until you get flat, no-pile carpets.
One of the oldest hand-weaving techniques is SUMAK
WEAVING, in which the weft wraps the warp in a continuous
way, in order to create its typical braided decoration.
