Seta di Banano
Fibra vegetale che sta riscontrando sempre maggior
successo per le sue qualità e perché non interferisce sugli
equilibri dell’ambiente.
Viene ottenuta dalle fibre più lunghe della foglia e della
corteccia dell’albero di banano, è quindi estremamente
resistente, del tutto naturale e biodegradabile. I tappeti in
seta di banano sono lucidi, simili a seta, anallergici, morbidi
al tatto e durevoli nel tempo.
Viscosa
Fibra artificiale ricavata da materie prime naturali e
rinnovabili come il cotone e il legno.
Attraverso varie lavorazioni diviene simile alla seta, di cui
ha lucentezza e morbidezza. I tappeti di viscosa hanno
un aspetto elegante, brillante, liscio e soffice.
Per la manutenzione necessitano di un po’ più di cura
rispetto ad altre fibre, non hanno molta resilienza e
producono inizialmente pilling dovuto agli eccessi di filato,
che va scomparendo progressivamente con una regolare
aspirazione.
* La Sigla HS
La sigla HS (Hand Spun Fiber) che affianca alcuni materiali
di origine naturale indica che la filatura è eseguita a mano.
Solitamente questa operazione viene svolta in India da
gruppi di donne e può essere riconosciuta per la variabilità
e le lievi irregolarità nel titolo del filato, caratteristiche che
garantiscono l’esecuzione artigianale, e non meccanica,
della lavorazione.
Banana Silk
A natural fiber of vegetable origin which is becoming more
and more popular for its quality and the fact that it does not
interfere with the environment.
The material is obtained from the longest fibers of the leaves
and bark of the banana tree. It is extremely resistant, all
natural and biodegradable. Carpets made with banana silk
have sheen similar to silk, are hypoallergenic, soft to the
touch and durable over time.
Viscose
An artificial fiber which is produced from natural and
renewable raw materials such as cotton and wood.
Using various production methods, the fibers are soft and
lucent similar to silk. Carpets made of viscose are elegant,
smooth and soft. Viscose requires a slightly higher level of
maintenance than other fibers, because is less resilient and
produces pilling in the beginning due to excess threads,
which will be eliminated with regular vacuuming.

Tencel™/ Lyocell
Tencel™ è il marchio austriaco registrato per l’uso
commerciale del Lyocell e certifica la produzione di
tessuti in fibra artificiale di origine naturale, estratta dalla
pianta di Eucalipto. È una fibra ecologica derivata dalla
rigenerazione della cellulosa di legno con processi
chimici simili alla viscosa. A questo processo produttivo
è stato conferito dall’UE il rinomato premio europeo per
l’ambiente “European Award for the Environment” e la fibra
ha ricevuto la certificazione Oeko Tex 100.
I tappeti in Tencel sono soffici e lucidi, anallergici e
antibatterici. Grazie alla lunghezza delle fibre di Eucalipto,
sono meno soggetti al fenomeno del pilling rispetto alle
altre fibre naturali.
Tencel™/ Lyocell
Tencel™ is the Austrian trademark for Lyocell fibers which
certifies the production of artificial fibers from components
of natural origin, extracted from Eucalyptus trees.
It is a ecological fiber derived from the regeneration of wood
cellulose through chemical processes similar to viscose. The
UE has conferred the “European Award for the Environment”
to this production process and the fiber has also received
Oeko Tex 100 certification.
Carpets in Tencel are soft and lucent, hypoallergenic and
antibacterial. Thanks to the length of the Eucalyptus fibers,
they are less subject to pilling than other natural fibers.
* The HS Mark
The HS Mark (Hand Spun Fiber) which accompanies some
material of natural origin indicates the threads have been
spun by hand. Usually this work is done by hand in India by
groups of women and is the reason for slight irregularities,
characteristics which guarantee artisanal execution versus
mechanical production.
