Como diseñador muchas veces he hecho de mago, con productos
que se transforman, se mueven o crecen. La magia para las mesas
desplegables Libris la encontré inspirándome en los libros y en cómo
se conforman sus hojas. Las hojas de estas mesas se encuadernan
mediante un lomo de fi bra de carbono. El movimiento, giro y desplegado
de este diseño se inspira en las antiguas mesas de juego holandesas.
Cuando se abre nos sorprende con su superfi cie ampliada. La tradición,
cultura y gusto por la ebanistería de Capdell se refl ejan en los arcos
de madera curvada y laminada que junto a las bancadas de madera
maciza dan soporte a las tapas de tablero laminado.
As a designer, many times I did as a magician, with products that
transform, move or grow. I found the magic for the LIBRIS drop-down
tables being inspired by the books and how their sheets are made.
The sheets of these tables are bound by a carbon fi ber back. The
movement, twist and unfold of this design is inspired by the old dutch
gaming tables. When it opens it surprises us with its enlarged surface.
Tradition, culture and taste for the Capdell’s woodwork are refl ected
in the curved and laminated wood arches that together with the solid
wood beams support the laminated panel tops.
