Once shaped, the piece is “knocked off”
the blowpipe and placed in an annealing furnace
for controlled cooling. This critical step slowly relieves
the glass of residual internal stresses, instilling
the finished product with strength and stability.
The cooled glass then moves through meticulous
finishing stages, including cutting, grinding, polishing,
washing, and matting, each requiring exceptional
craftsmanship. Only after these refinements
is the final assembly completed according
to customer specifications.
By adhering to these traditional techniques,
we ensure that our production remains future
proof, allowing our glassmakers to craft precise
replacement parts for our lights years or even
decades from the original date of purchase.
