Situated in a 1940s refurbished dairy in Hoegaarden, Belgium, Axis71 is an haute couture lighting company that began as a gallery in 1971 Paris. Originally named Axis, the suffix “71” was added to commemorate the founding year. Quality and design are engrained in Axis71’s values, as well as creating collectable products that will stay with the customer for years. A good service and short delivery times are the strengths of the company.
The expansion and success of Axis71 can be attributed to manager Patrick Vossen, who believes: “The strength of our collection comes from the balance between the used materials and the design, but also from our finishing touch. We take particular care of the details, so our lamps will match any interior, all over the world." Whether creating a new design or reworking a classic from previous collaborations, Axis71 upholds a couturier status in the lighting field. The company is quite literally illuminating: their newest collection of design lighting will indeed provide the consumer with a clearer view. The design team invests all of their passion and craftsmanship in the development of the lamps. Аxis71 can be considered a true ‘couturier’ in lighting, furniture and objects.
Over the past years, Аxis71 realized a lot of projects. In 2009, they decorated a number of big and boutique hotels inside and outside Europe. Axis71 lighting fits a modern aesthetic with a luxurious quality. Pieces from the Manhattan collection were installed in the Château de l'Ardoisière in Jodoigne, Belgium and pendants and floor lamps from the Charles collection can be found in the Château Le Vert in Bordeaux, France.
Not only quality and design are important values for Аxis71. The company also makes an effort to protect the environment. The traditional incandescent bulb is replaced by the halogen version E27 or E14. Аxis71 thinks about integrating the LED technology. Every fitting can be provided with a low-energy lightbulb. The packaging consists of recycled or recyclable material.
