Recessed ceiling downlights
Square recessed ceiling luminaires with various light characteristics
offer solutions for many lighting scenarios. Symmetrical light
distribution with narrow, wide, or very wide beam light distribution
illuminate the ground area directly below from the ceiling. A wide
or very wide beam light distribution is generally the best choice for
the illumination of ground surfaces. A narrow beam distribution on
the other hand, would be advisable for narrow spaces like corridors,
hallways, or staircases.
An asymmetrical wide beam light distribution is generally used where
wall surfaces are to be illuminated from the ceiling.
Suitable installation housings are available for installations in concrete
ceilings. Detailed information can be found on bega.com in the
instructions for use for these luminaires.

The half beam angle β describes the size of the light cone with which an object or surface is actually illuminated. Luminaires
with wider half beam angles should be chosen for short lighting distances, a focused light is recommended for larger distances.
