The Light Brick – Lichtbaustein® has been a BEGA trademark for more than
60 years. Circle, square or rectangle: that is how most people know this
true evergreen among light features.
Our glass reaches a temperature of over 1300 degrees Celsius during pro-
cessing. Our glassmakers install a translucent layer of opal glass between
two layers of crystal glass. This process gives the glass a consistency like
thick honey.
We wanted to give the valuable material glass a more fitting form – taking
inspiration from the timeless beauty of beach pebbles. Their soft, flowing
and almost random shapes are very similar to those of glass during the
melting process.
The luminaire glass moves freely on the fittings. As a result, just two shapes
in two sizes each allows for countless arrangements – as beautiful and
seemingly random as pebbles on the beach. And by far more beautiful with
light.
