Antoni Gaudí is without a doubt Spain’s most internationally famous architect, but not only for his
buildings and his ingenious architectural solutions that have been adopted worldwide. His holistic
approach to architecture led him to conceive not only structural solutions, but also decorative
elements, including furniture, that would become part of the building. Gaudían furniture has been
greatly admired by many modern designers and this did not go unnoticed by BD. It was the first
company to rescue the pieces from the history books and reproduce them, ‘mass producing’ them
yet in an artisan way, using the same materials – solid varnished oak – and all the richness of detail
of the originals.
