The Simplex Chair was developed after a design
discussion at BD, where the need for a simple,
affordable, versatile, and stackable chair was
identified. After considering various renowned
international designers, Oscar Tusquets, co-
founder of BD, took on the challenge, resulting in
this minimal and essential design.
Inspired by two iconic chairs—Enzo Mari’s
Tonietta and Thonet’s classic circular chair, a
staple in many architects’ studios—the Simplex
Chair introduces the innovation of exceptional
stackability, making it both practical and efficient.
The design is also being adapted for outdoor use,
further expanding its versatility.
