Alfredo Häberli’s bench sits inside and out, and
can double as a table as much as an ergonomic
and comfortable seating system. Inspired by
the Catalano benches by Oscar Tusquets and
Lluís Clotet, Alfredo Häberli designed the Swiss
Benches Collection for BD. The El Poeta Bench
has a light, fluid profile and textured body, and
it became a bestseller, sitting comfortably in
the public and domestic spheres. It can be
placed back-to-back as a table, where one can
sit outwards or inwards to write or eat with the
support of the levelling backrest. The steel sheet
is perforated and breathable, wrapping elegantly
around tubular steel supports. Coated with
cataphoresis, the bench is stable and corrosion-
resistant and was awarded the Gold Delta Award
by ADI FAD in 2007.
