OUR COMMITMENT
BD’s aluminium collection is manufactured
using 75% from recycled post-consumer scrap
and 20% from recycled preconsumer scrap.
By using recycled post-consumer scrap, we
drastically reduce energy consumption in the
production phase, while still offering high quality
aluminium.
In addition, for the production of the remaining
5% of primary aluminium, Hydro uses renewable
energy sources from water, wind and solar,
producing cleaner aluminium and reducing the
carbon footprint per kg of aluminium to less
than a quarter of the global average. The result
is aluminium with one of the
lowest carbon footprints in the world. It is worth
noting that Hydro is located in Navarra, Spain
and controls every step of the value chain,
ensuring a fully traceable production process.
The BD aluminium collection is made from 95%
recycled aluminium and has one of the lowest
carbon footprints in the world.
