MULLER VAN SEVEREN
Muller Van Severen was founded in
2011 by Belgian artist duo Fien Muller
and Hannes Van Severen. They
emphasise the natural beauty of
materials through a balance of design
and art, translating ideas into different
concepts, mediums and scales.
SABINE MARCELIS
Sabine Marcelis is a New Zealand-
born Dutch designer. She has worked
in product, installation and spatial
design since 2011, focusing on pure
forms and their materiality. Her
designs are meticulously refined
and appreciated internationally,
with commercial and fashion clients
around the world. She makes
experiences and forms with a
sensorial quality.
ARQUITECTURA-G
ARQUITECTURA-G is a Barcelona-
based architectural practice founded
in 2006 by Jonathan Arnabat, Jordi
Ayala-Bril, Aitor Fuentes and Igor
Urdampilleta while they were still
students. Their work ranges from
furniture design to private houses,
retail architecture, multi-familly
housing or public facilities. They have
broad experience in the renovation of
historical architecture, rennovations
and new constructions. Their work
has been internationally recognized,
including the 2015 EU Emerging
Architect Mies Van der Rohe Prize.
RONAN BOUROULLEC
Born in rural Brittany in 1971, Ronan
Bouroullec lives and works in Paris,
France, and is a 21st-century design
icon. He has produced exceptionally
inviting and innovative designs since
the 1990s and his creativity has
earned him a global reputation, with
his exquisite designs and art
produced, exhibited, and appreciated
across the globe.
KONSTANTIN GRCIC
Konstantin Grcic marries meticulous
research with a minimalist flair.
From training as a cabinetmaker to
collaborating with names like Vitra,
Flos, Muji, and BD, his journey is as
diverse as his creations. Grcic is
based in Berlin, and his designs exude
an intense refinement of form. They
have a utilitarian elegance and sharp,
impressive angles. His designs are
beautifully functional.
ÁLVARO SIZA
Álvaro Siza.The architect’s architect.
His designs are bold and sleek.
They have a strong and unified
aesthetic that oozes elegance with
a great technical coherence. Siza’s
architecture is honest and efficient,
and his creativity triggers moments of
contemplation.
LLUÍS CLOTET
Lluís Clotet had a daring like no other.
He shifted Barcelona’s contemporary
architecture and design scene with
a poised eye and a creative mind. He
was a founding partner of BD, and his
refreshing and iconic structures are
modern, influential, and highly refined.
PEPE CORTÉS
Pepe Cortés has a unique design
language that refines objects to their
elemental level. He was involved in
iconic interior design projects and
co-founded the Open Design Group
during the early 1970s. Cortés has
won numerous awards and is the
designer of the BD favourite, the
Jamaica stool.
STEPHEN BURKS
Stephen Burks blurs the line between
industrial manufacturing and
artisanal design. He uses authentic
craft traditions and contemporary
methods, producing products,
furniture, lighting, and exhibitions for
his studio, Man Made.
ALFREDO HÄBERLI
Alfredo Häberli dances between
nostalgia and novelty. Born in Buenos
Aires and based in Zürich, Häberli
works along various fields of design
with a blend of curiosity, innovation,
and charisma. His collaborations and
creations boldly fuse tradition and
cutting-edge flair.
ANTONI GAUDÍ
He developed a formidable mastery
of structure. His visual language never
ceases to impress. Antoni Gaudí was
an artist, architect and a leader of the
Catalan art nouveau. He transformed
the formal into undulating structures
resembling limbs, branching forests,
and the complex geometry of natural
landforms.
EUGENI QUILLET
Born in Ibiza in 1972, Eugeni Quitllet
synthesises functional creativity and
quirky charm. He launched his agency
in Barcelona after honing his skills
alongside icons like Philippe Starck,
and is known for creating designs
with a strong linearity and expressive
curves. He is now based in Dallas using
today’s technology and manufacturing
to create his designs for tomorrow.
JAIME HAYON
His work is a spectacle of whimsy and
insight. Jaime Hayon’s creative talents
know no bounds. Born in Madrid and
internationally recognised, Hayon
moved into design with a deep love for
art, infusing vibrant colours, folkloric
pieces and captivating charm into his
pieces. He moves along materials,
creating a visual language that is as
captivating as it is accessible.
ALESSANDRO MENDINI
Alessandro Mendini: a design
maverick of the 20th century. Born
in Milan in 1931, he was an architect,
industrial designer, and editor. He’s
the genius behind Swatch watches
and Alessi’s glory days, and was one
of the leaders of the Radical design
movement, introducing colour and
daring form into Italy in the 70s.
SALVADOR DALÍ
Dalí was one of the most prolific artists
of the 20th century. He was more than
a pioneer of Surrealism.
His work shocked and excited society.
They had an explicit rawness, one
with unusual meanings that, when
combined, made irreality concrete.
The power and originality of Dalí’s
work is still just as immediate and
impressive today.
ETTORE SOTTSASS
Ettore Sottsass was an architect
and grandee of late-20th-century
design. His work developed how we
view design today. Sottsass notably
founded the Memphis collective,
creating beautiful glass and ceramic
designs. He is known for his colourful
and bold geometric forms, and also
designed the Shiva vase in 1973, the
emblem of BD and a symbol of his
bright, playful and inspired attitude.
ANTOINE ET MANUEL
Antoine Audiau and Manuel Warosz
are the duo behind Antoine et
Manuel. They work together to
craft vibrant designs, fusing their
backgrounds in product and
fashion design to create a signature
graphic style. Their work has been
showcased worldwide, and their
furniture design debut came with
the cabinet they created for BD. The
Tout va Bien.
DOSHI LEVIEN
Doshi Levien began in 2000 in
London. They create design objects
and hybrid forms that balance
technology, culture and quality
craftsmanship. The two have unique
signatures in their work, with their
objects exploring visual culture within
industrial and furniture design.
JOSEP MARIA JUJOL
Josep Maria Jujol was an ingenious
architect who collaborated with
Antoni Gaudí on numerous projects,
creating structures teeming with
energy and lightness. He was
interested in the tactile aspects
of his forms, using refined materials
to create modern and innovative
facades.
