In una delle zone residenziali più belle di Londra, nei pressi
della famosa Abbey Road, sorge questo appartamento
ricavato dalla fusione e dalla ristrutturazione di due unità
immobiliari, collocate su due livelli differenti di un palazzo
vittoriano. L’intervento, ad opera dell’Arch. Azzurra Garzone,
ha separato nettamente la zona notte dalla zona giorno,
sfalsandole verticalmente. Il primo livello si presenta come
un unico ambiente dedicato al living, un grande open
space simmetrico, scandito dalle decorazioni in stucco dei
soffitti, che ne identificano le diverse funzioni. Ai due capi
del piano, ci sono la sala pranzo, da un lato, e il salone,
dall’altro, che sfrutta anche lo spazio semicircolare delineato
dall’affascinante bow window. Progettati in modo gemellare,
i due soffitti sono illuminati dalle sospensioni Palmette, scelte
dall’architetta per il loro design, che richiama le atmosfere
e lo stile déco, sottolineate dalla preziosità delle lavorazioni
artigianali Barovier&Toso. Disposte su tre livelli, le foglie
di cristallo veneziano trasparente creano dei voluminosi
ventagli, che irradiano la luce in modo delicato.

Victorian House
In one of the most beautiful residential areas of London,
near the famous Abbey Road, this apartment was created
by merging and renovating two separate units located on
different levels of a Victorian building. The project, carried
out by Architect Azzurra Garzone, distinctly separates
the sleeping area from the living area, offsetting them
vertically. The first level is an open-plan space dedicated
to living, a large symmetrical open space highlighted by
the stucco decorations on the ceilings, which define its
various functions. At either end of the floor are the dining
room on one side and the living room on the other, which
also takes advantage of the semicircular space delineated
by the charming bow window. Designed symmetrically,
the two ceilings are illuminated by Palmette suspensions,
chosen by the architect for their design, which evokes Art
Deco atmospheres and style, emphasized by the precious
craftsmanship of Barovier&Toso. Arranged on three levels,
the transparent Venetian crystal leaves create voluminous
fans that gently diffuse light.
