La forma della base del tavolo Bentz deriva
da un profilo semplice che, estendendosi
lungo una linea sinuosa, crea al centro un
fulcro con le caratteristiche funzionali di una
base a colonna. La superficie e il volume
che ne conseguono cercano di stabilire
gerarchie tra le gambe delle persone sedute
di fronte le une alle altre. La finitura specchiata
richiama l’ambiente circostante per ribadire
ulteriormente il concetto di oggetto con
una collocazione e non semplicemente
collocazione di un oggetto.
The form of the Bentz table base derives
from a simple profile swept along a down
and up trajectory. In doing so, it creates an
airy and sculptural central focus with the
functional characteristics of a column base. The
resulting surface and volume seeks hierarchy
and interplay between the actual legs of the
people seated across from one another. The
applied reflection and colour draw in and on
the environment to further establish an object
with placement, rather than the placement
of an object.
