| cradle arm chair
inspired by danish modernism. loose back and seat, both
with a partial fill. thin butter knife arm. drops into a cradle
reminiscent of an asian palanquin.
the simplicity of the slim upholstery, the partial fill and the
cradle contrast with the sinuous elegance of the arm. casual
and couture, like jeans with designer heels. the back and
seat cushions are often shown in a tone-on-tone combination
fabric. the uniqueness of the silhouette encourages the use
of twos and fours.

influenced by the new café culture of Vienna in the 1920s,
this chair is at once formidable and neatly tailored. While the
design is classic, the low, but deep, proportions create a very
modern sense of refinement. modern but not too much so the
resulting form can work in a variety of rooms and schemes.
