a hepplewhite settee with a reeded frame. tight back and crisply
tailored seat cushions. round tapered legs on casters.
the original resides in one of the homes acquired by the guinness
family of dublin over the course of the last two centuries. this
settee demonstrates that great design ignores the boundaries of
period and style. equally at home in a period, traditional, or even a
contemporary setting. the fabric defines the frame. compelling in
pairs framing a fireplace. circa 1780.
